đź’Ť Weddings & Legal Ceremonies
Are you legally able to marry couples in Northern Ireland and Ireland?
Yes! I’m a fully trained celebrant and a registered solemniser with FuturFaith, which means I can legally marry you almost anywhere in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland — indoors, outdoors, on a mountain, by the sea, you name it.
What’s the difference between a celebrant and a registrar?
A registrar is a government official who performs a standard legal marriage ceremony, often in a set location and with little flexibility. A celebrant-led ceremony is fully personalised, and because I’m a legal solemniser too, you get the best of both — a ceremony that’s meaningful and legally binding.
Do you perform religious or spiritual wedding ceremonies?
Yes — if you’d like. I offer non-religious, spiritual, or blended ceremonies that include elements of your faith, culture, or family traditions. It’s entirely up to you.
How far in advance should we book you?
For weddings, I recommend booking 12–18 months in advance, especially for popular dates. But if your date is sooner — get in touch anyway, I might still be available!
Do you travel?
Absolutely. I’m based in Northern Ireland, but I happily travel across Ireland and beyond for ceremonies. Travel fees may apply depending on the distance.
Can we write our own vows?
Yes please! I love when couples write personal vows — and if you’re nervous, I can help guide you or even write them with you.
How long does a wedding ceremony last?
Most wedding ceremonies are around 25–35 minutes, depending on what’s included. But it’s your day — we’ll tailor it to suit your style and timing.
Are you the same as a Humanist celebrant?
Not exactly — but we have a lot in common!
Like a Humanist celebrant, I create personal, non-religious or blended ceremonies that are completely focused on your values, story, and relationship. The main difference is that I’m part of FuturFaith — a forward-thinking, inclusive organisation that embraces all beliefs, identities, and traditions.
So while Humanist ceremonies are strictly non-religious, I can include spiritual, cultural or even gentle religious elements if they’re important to you — or keep it fully secular if that’s your preference. The key is that it’s your ceremony, your way.
Unlike Humanist celebrants in Northern Ireland, I am also a registered Solemniser with HSE in Ireland, which means I have the added benefit of also being able to legally marry you across the whole island of Ireland.
👶 Naming Days & Family Ceremonies
What is a naming ceremony?
A naming day is a non-religious alternative to a christening. It’s a joyful, family-focused celebration to welcome your child (biological, adopted, or otherwise) into the world and your community.
Can we include guideparents or grandparents in the ceremony?
Absolutely. You can include any special people — guideparents, grandparents, siblings, or friends — with readings, promises, or symbolic gestures.
We’re adopting a child — is there a ceremony to mark this special occasion?
As someone who is adopted myself, I understand how profound and emotional this experience can be. I’d be honoured to help you create a ceremony that reflects your story, your bond, and your hopes for the future as a family.
Yes, absolutely. My Adoption Welcoming Ceremonies are a beautiful way to honour and celebrate this incredible moment in your family’s journey.
These ceremonies are similar in style to a naming day but are tailored specifically for adopted children — whether they’re babies, older children, or teens — and can include guideparents, grandparents, and other loved ones in meaningful ways.
🕊️ Funeral & Memorial Ceremonies
Do you offer religious or non-religious funeral ceremonies?
Both. I create inclusive, heartfelt ceremonies that reflect the life and beliefs of the person who has passed — whether that’s completely secular, lightly spiritual, or includes specific religious elements.
Can we include music, readings or family tributes?
Yes, and I’ll help you shape the ceremony in a way that feels meaningful and manageable during such a difficult time.
Where do you hold funeral ceremonies?
I can lead ceremonies in funeral homes, crematoriums, family homes, or meaningful outdoor spaces across Northern Ireland and Ireland.
📝 Working With Me
What’s the booking process like?
It starts with a relaxed chat to see if we’re a good fit. If you’d like to go ahead, I’ll send over a booking form and deposit details to secure your date. From there, I’ll guide you every step of the way.
Will we get to see the ceremony script beforehand?
Yes — for weddings and naming ceremonies, I’ll send you a full draft in advance so you can make sure it’s just right. (Funeral scripts may have a shorter turnaround, but I always seek family input.)
How much do your ceremonies cost?
Prices vary depending on the type of ceremony, location, and what’s involved. I’m happy to provide a detailed quote — just get in touch for a friendly chat.
